  • My Story

This is my story. I am 25 yrs old, I have 3 boys. I had my tubes tied in Sept of 02, shortly after that I was told that I had the very early stages of cancer. I had a partial hysterectomy on Jan 2 03, and just recently I found out that I have IC, still not all that sure of what this is. Now i have to change everything and I don't like it, lol. The way I eat, and I was told that if i don't lose the weight on my own then i could be a candidate for gastric bypass. Not looking forward to this either. LOL, I have no will power.

grouphug grouphug grouphug grouphug Sounds like a lot of serious problems on your back. I just found out that a doc saw precancerous cells in me..he removed them but what a scare that doesn't go away. He saw them during my hysterectomy. Read my story and you will know that that was just a small piece of what is wrong with me....so I understand the big picture of health problems being so hard. (((((((((hugs to you)))))))))))

I hope everything gets a lot better real soon.

      Enjoy your kids!!

      hoping you feel well soon,
      Faith, Hope, and Love,
      Katrina

The only thing I was told about it was that it is a condition where the toxins eat at the lining of my bladder. And that there is no known cure for it. I am wondering how much of my diet I actually have to change. I know I am not supposed to have things with acid in them, but what else am i not supposed to have, I read through the list on here, but some of the things there i can eat with no problem. Any suggestions?

          Hi Firewriter:

In addition to acids, spices are also often a big problem for us ICers. Also, seasonings (Black pepper is my worst enemy!) Caffeine (a diuretic) and sugar are also known bladder irritants.

For acidic foods, I take Prelief tablets. They help me tolerate them better so I don't have to cut those foods out completely.

          Hope this helps,

          Zanni2 angel

Since we all respond differently to things the best thing you can do is illiminate everything and then try things individually to find out how it affects you. Sugar doesn't me, nor does milk...but some are bothered by both of theese. When I am at my worst I am more sensitve than when treatment is working so that can make a difference too.

            Good luck.
