  • First appointment w/ urologist coming up

Alright, I know this is silly but I'm already starting to get nervous about my first appointment with a urologist on Thursday. My gyn's office diagnoised me w/ IC and though they have been really nice I just wanted to see what a uro could do for me. I have a PPO so I don't need referals. I called around and found a big practice that has two dr's that deal w/ a lot of IC patients so I thought it was a safe bet to see one of them. Now that it's this week I'm starting to get nervous. I haven't been too a uro since I saw the uro who removed the endo from my bladder, and he wasn't very nice.
I just hope this guy is nice and really listens to me. I think I want to ask for a hydro to see how bad it actually is so we'll have to see what he says to that.
Oh did I mention in addition to the fact that I'm all nervous about this my crappy car hasn't started since Tuesday! Thank goodness we have a second car but my mother in law drives it and pays for everything for it so in order to go to this uro appointment I have to get up at 5:30, take her into work and then go to the appointment, come back home so hubby can run me into work so he will have the car to pick up mil when she gets done w/ work. Ugh! I feel like I'm gonna freak out at any minute

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

((((hugs))) you will be ok.. sit down and make a list of questions you would like to ask.. write down all your meds the mg's and how often you take them..
Do ask about the hydro, he may want to see for himself..
Sorry about the car is it the battery, silenoid?

Thanks for the hugs Cindy We have no idea what is wrong w/ that stupid thing. It's a 2000 Civic and I have never had any problems w/ it, bought it new. We thought that maybe because it was soooo cold and we had less than half a tank of gas that the fuel line was frozen. We put dry gas in it and still nothing. The battery seems to be okay because the radio and lights and heat will start just can't seem to turn over. Tried starter fluid and changed the spark plugs. None of it worked and my AAA expired so I won't have the money to get it towed somewhere until I get paid on Friday, at least we have the other car that mil drives or I would be up a creek.
