    Thousands of cases in a city of 100 000 people...

    I talked to the nurse at the urologist's office today. I still don't have an appointment, she said the waiting list is shocking - every urologist in the city has a waiting list several hundred people long.

    She said there are "thousands of cases of Interstitial Cystitis here."

    Thousands, in a city about about 100 000? And she said all those cases are from here, not from any other areas.

    Is that normal?

    I never even heard of IC until I was diagnosed 6 months ago. That number of IC patients seem awfully high. If this disease progresses that much in every State and Country maybe the government will give more money for research. The public needs to be aware of this depilating disease. We need a cure for this yesterday.

      That is quite shocking! Does she have any explanation? Are people coming there from outlying areas? Where are you in Canada?

        It is indeed shocking! I sincerely doubt the numbers she is stating. Is there a different doctor you can see?

          Wow Cap. Maybe it's something in the water!

          Maybe people are just getting educated and realizing what may be really wrong with them.

          Please, please keep us informed. Everyone would be interested to know what the doc's theory is on this. Could be a very important clue.

            I too am in Canada and this sounds familiar.

            In a city of 75,000 people - the head nurse of the urology clinic told me she has over 1,500 patients on Rimso ... that doesn't include the ones that are not on that treatment.

            Hmmm ... makes ya wonder
