I was diagnosed in 2001 with ic. I thought it was the end of my life. I was in the bathroom ALL the time. As time went on i found ways to deal with this disease. In the later part of 2002 I was in Hawaii climbing up and down hills not even thinking about a bathroom. I was in remission. Drank lots of water and took prelief. Life was good....then I had a bit of a flare in 2007 after a bunch of stress, but 2 dmso treatments, preleif and lots of water, watching diet took care of it. Then as i have aged 56 now. I had to have 2 knee surgeries and my vaginal and rectal wall collasped and that needed repair. Well I was doing well with diet. However, I forgot I had ic. Drank diet gingerale, was drinking coffee again, no preleif doing well. Then i had 6 sinus infections and was not watching what I ate at all. Was eating grapes and strawberries and BANG the ic came back with a vengance. That was September. Now it is January!!!! I finally am back to the road to remission. I am stubborn and I BELEIVE this can be cured. Well dont know about that now.
When i had the operations and OH i had $10,000 worth of dental work done too. When i did all of that medical stuff i forgot about my ic. I didnt tell the docs or dentist.
We have to remember as we age no matter how great we feel that we still have this thing and its important to tell doctore about our condition if we are having a procedure. And for me if i am going to have a procedure to be actively taking care of my bladder.
Love you guys lots
