Stick with the diet for sure, it has saved Bob. He had tomatoes on a taco back in the fall (I could have slapped him LOL), and he has had flares ever since. So very important. And yes, the heating pad is your best friend, and sometimes a cold pack works as well. Hope you feel better soon. Jill, wife of Bob

Give your new meds a chance to work. Are you following the diet. http://www.ic-network.com/diet/dietcheatsheet.html This is the link to the diet cheat sheet, if you aren't following it, give it a try.

    IC and medications

I was diagnosed with IC in January of 2009. It was during a bladder lift surgery and it was in the beginning stages. I have been taking Emiron 100mg three times dailey. I have had several flare-ups in the past year that sometimes would be excruiciating. I have been having another flare-up (the worst so far) for the past week. I went back to my specialist yesterday and have now been put on Prosed (which turns your urine blue) flexiril, and percocet for the breakthrough pain, along with the Elmiron. It is so depressing to know that there is no cure for this- I was told we cant treat the symptoms, not the disease. I am just miserable at this point- cant have "relations" with my husband, cant sit comfortably because of all the pressure..is there an end in sight? Anyone have any suggestions? My heating pad has been my attatchment lately....
