  • don't try this at home!!

Hello Everyone I hope you are having a rest from pain day today.
Now thats a good idea..we should start a national pain free day (if only I can hear you say) So the heading caught your attention, and being human we are curious when told not to do something ...in fact ..being the little rebel I am I go the opposite direction when told what not to do ...it is only recently and my age that I've learned to do what I'm told.
I wanted to tell little bits about myself on spaced occasions..the reason is the sheer volume of medical history spanning three years ..Thank goodness it wasn't longer ..I would have either.......
    1. bored everyone (even myself)

    2. asked for a bigger New thread box

    3. lost a lot of friends I haven't made yet.

I.C. ----a diagnosis I was not going to accept as it didn't fit the criteria boxes.
I saw pictures of my poorly angry bladder resembeling something like a demented blamonge!
No ones bladder should look that angry I thought and immediatly went into be good to the bladder mode..first thing on the agenda was T. L.C.

The extreme pain I suffer comes from top of the inside of the vagina.
after standing a short time I feel movement...in a few words it feels as if my organs are making a desperate BID to ESCAPE!! (very difficult for docs to understand)
It is not the nicest of feelings even if the pain isn't in the 7/8 pain scale.

On the trip down investigation avenue I learned I had Diverticular disease,
(bearing in mind the split of that word indicates something very obvious
Dis -at--ease.. which is how my body is feeling.

I have a swelling on the right side of body inside, I can feel the swell and sometimes wonder when will it stop ...don't want an eruption anywhere, but just as that thought comes the swell stops.( the swelling can't be seen!!)
I mention this to every specialist, none seem bothered.

NOW onto the bit don't try this at home....
Some years ago I lived on diet coke as my one and only favoured drink.....I gave up....gosh it was like coming off vallium..the withdrawal was horendous, shaking, no confidence, head aches etc....but I stuck with it as this, I was told, irritated the bladder (YEP..that makes sense)

Two weeks ago , having evening meal my other half said he fancied a cold coke and brought in two from the den...he unconsiously poured a glass for me...it was nectar!! then a sudden shock feeling came to me OMG am I going to pay a price for that. But instead it did the opposite, I had no pain any where, left it a few weeks tried again and same result...I am not chancing my luck any more...but I find it strange as it is one of the no nos. I don't suggest any one here tries it.

Anyway that's another bit about me...tommorrow 02 march I have my third cystoscopy under G. A,
A different urologist but he will not listen to other problems in that area just called on the case to investigate blood in urine.

A QUESTION is there someone diagnosed with I C who experiences a swelling on the right side under the right breast? AND could the bulge in the vagina be my BLADDER?
If so, why has nothing been seen I know I have asked that question before but never met with anyone with same symptoms only similier. I am confused
    thanks for listening
    love from Madi xxxx

Has your bulge been seen or felt?
Have you had ct scan ultra or other?
Do you think it's your bladder?
      Have you had hysterectomy?
what has your doctor said about the bulge? and last question does it burn?
sorry to ask as you mention one hand...is that temporary or permenate/
thanks LM your answers could truly help me...I forgot to mention to every one that it has been suggested I have a Pudendal nerve problem.
It sounds also to me I am having PNE injection on 12 march ..last month I had gangalion impar injection but that failed...if any one wants to know about this nerve I know a little and can answer some questions those questions I can't answer I know people who do ...thanks again LindaMay I hope you have a reall good day...I'm not sure of time differences from uk to usa

That bulge could be a cystocele or even a rectocele, but if you have been checked and nothing found, it could be normal. We don't spend a lot of time on self exams until there is some discomfort --- and we can find body bumps we didn't know we had.

          Thanks Donna
I understand what you're saying ..only thing I can't understand in the unbearable pain the burning and twisting and stabbing .
I can't understand the drop with gravity and have run many times to a nurse, physio whoever, and paid money saying you MUST be able to see it? but no!In total during a day I can stand for just two hours and I am so lively and energetic, big house two big dogs ..it is so frustrating but the pain is so strong despite loads of heavy pain killing stuff...thanks for your reply Donna

            Madi,
Just so you are aware, we do have a pudendal nerve section on the forum. You might want to take a look at it, there is some very good information there. I have had some trouble with mine as well but I fear any type of treatment with blocks or anything. If and when it gets unbearable I will look into that. I had a Dr suggest the ganglion impar block to me but after looking into it I was a bit afraid of having that done. I just worry about those sort of things, I fear I my find myself in more pain and don't want to invite trouble! Let us know how things turn out for you.

thank you so much for that i will look now ...I must tell you though that some symptoms do not seem to have an explaination and then on top of that it can't be seen so the sufferer(me) looks like an idiot and that's why some patients are either not taken seriously or even worse they are not believed, then if the doc can do no more in comes the psyciatrist. Only if you are lucky someone thinks of the nerve from the spine that feeds the area affected, and looks into that...as it happenned my pudendal was damaged which showed on an mri so thats the road I'm on at the moment.. to try and dull pain that damaged nerve is causing , it's my only real hope and this is on top of IC..I have got to the point of I will Try anything now but in the begining I didn't take even a parecetomal and refused pain management as I suspected they would stop looking for what was causing the pain.
thanks for listening. Is that south east of england you live?
