  • ic diet

Hi everyone, Hope you are all having an ok day today. My Gp put me back on antibiotics. Just 100 mg a day until I can see my urologist. They always seem to help for some reason. But I am trying to stay on the ic diet, but I just love my tea and I can't have it except the ones I don't like. I do like salad, but don't know what ic friendly dressing I can have. If someone knows of any please let me know. Thanks, Barb

If you like creamy dressings, such as ranch --- you might want to try putting some cottage cheese in your blender, adding favorite herbs. I personally like salads with a bit of coarsely ground salt.

I like some of the flavored herbal teas, but never did like plain tea so can't help you there.

    Warm hugs,
    Donna

I understand about the salad dressing. One of the members posted a very good salad dressing recipe that I use:

      Softened Cream Cheese
      Drizzle of Olive Oil
      Garlic Powder
      Chives
Milk (add as much or as little as you like)

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do

Barb, I can drink Formosa Pouchong Oolong tea because it is low caffeine, low acid, and not very fermented. I get it loose from the House of Tea in Philadelphia...it's $10 an ounce but you only use a wee bit and you can even re-brew multiple cups from the same leaves (the taste actually improves with re-brewing). I got 4 ounces at Christmas and I am just running out of it now. It is very tasty in a tea sort of way, not herbal or floral or fruity. All oolongs are NOT the same, however; I can't tolerate Tung Tin or the jade and orchid oolongs.

Two ways to get around the salad dressing thing: take a tiny wee bit and toss your salad with the dressing to better distrubute it, or put some in a cup and dip your fork into it before spearing the salad (that's an old Weight Watchers trick). That way you taste the dressing in every bite but in reality use very little of it.

Good luck! Now if someone can just figure out how I can sneak tomato soup back into my diet....
