I have been having problems for about 4 or 5 years and it all started with me going to a urologist for an uti and he gave me antibodics, well he keep me on them for about a year and I just seemed to get worse. I suffered for a while then I asked my regular dr and they sent me to another urologist which said I had scar tissue in my bladder and in my uretha so he did surgery and then diagnosed me with an OAB. They tried me on every medicine for that and nothing seemed to help. I was really starting to get frustrated cause I knew something else had to be wrong, but I lived with it for awhile longer. Then again I asked my regular dr if there was another urologist I could go to and I just went to him last week and almost instantly he knew what I had was IC. He started me on Elmiron and I go friday for a ct scan, then back next week for a follow up. He is getting my records for the other dr to see exactly what he did. I am so happy that I finally found a dr that was willing to listen to me and help me. I have suffered for a long time now and I am ready to have my some relief.

trying Aloe Vera Juice just a little mixed with water
I am on my 3rd uro. The 1st I went to cause of an UTI it was clear in the culture by the next month, but I was still having issues so he continued me on macordantin (sp.) and urised for about a year and I just seemed to get worse. My 2nd uro said he thought I had an OAB and tried me on meds for that. Everytime I went to him he would dialate my uretha and he also did a hydro (streched my bladder) and supposely removed scar tissue from my bladder and urethea and said my bladder was inflammed. But he said I didn't have enought pain to have IC. I tried many OAB meds and nothing seems to help I was in the bathroom atleast once an hour if not more. I suffered for a while. Now I am on my 3rd uro. The 1st visit we talked and he instantly said I had IC. He checked me and did an ultrasound of my bladder and order a cat scan and put me on Elmiron. I am currently waiting for the results of the cat scan.
A little about me that doesn't have to do with this is I am a stay at home mother of two kids and I have a very loving and supportive husband.

I think that your story sounds pretty similar to alot of ours. I was having alot of issues and I too went through several doctors and procedures til I was finally seen by a dr that knew instantly what was wrong. It really is so helpful to have a dr that knows what they are talking about and that are compassionate. I hope that you have a continued success with your doctors.

It just makes some of this bearable when we finally find some one who will take the time to figure out a treatment for us. I had come across so many of them that were so impatient and just wanted to shove a script in my hand as I was going out the door saying see you in three months. Finding a good doc with this condition is like finding gold. It is such a relief. Good luck to you.Comment

Thank u guys very much. I am very thankful for finding this dr and I hope things get better for me now i know its going to be a journey, but I am willing to try anything. I am having issues figuring out what to eat and what not to eat cause it seems like everything i eat bothers me. Does anyone have any suggestions on that?
