Does anyone else have major discomfort and major frequency if you drink a beer?

  • #2
I can get by with a half one if I have been doing really well for a long time. I don't dare try it if not... It will cause me pain and burning if I'm not careful. Oh, if only I could have a beer whenever I wanted or just once a month, etc.!
    treatment:
-I follow the IC diet to the letter
    -acupuncture and chinese herbs
    -Prelief
    -UTA
    -instillations as needed
-beginning yoga and specialized yoga for breathing and relaxation
    -Wellbutrin
    -Klonopin

    main symptoms: pain and burning

Thank you so very much. I was doing better for the last two days and am visiting my sister and thought what the heck and had two beers...OUCH!!!! Had to take my Valium and lortab. I'm sitting on ice due to also having vestibulitis however you spell it. Im so ready for my cystoscopy and distention to figure this out. The pain can be unbearable and I hate complaining.

Some on here have said that a beer actually stops the burning temporarily in the urethra. I tried it a good while ago but all I got was increased frequency, so have not tried it since. I did however after a long time with no alcohol try a pear martini when I went out for dinner, and this did not bother me at all. Not even the next day. I read that a clear alcohol may not be as irritating as wine or beer. Not that I love martinis so much that I would start drinking them on a regular basis, but it was nice to know that I could have one once in a while when I go out to dinner.
