  • Just diagnosed!

Hi, I was just diagnosed yesterday and wanted to know are there any other people that have this have a burning pain in their right side that radiates to the lower back??

    Brenda

Pain can seem to come from many places with IC. I actually have a similar pain that you describe. They have worked me up for ovarian problems, kidney issues, and adhesions from the C-sections I had. Nothing showed up....so I think for me it is just the IC.

It IS important to get this looked into for yourself, though, to rule out all of the above. You need to know for sure.

Finally, be sure to follow the IC Diet! That is one of the best ways you can help yourself.....

Sending you welcoming and understanding hugs!!!!!

      Thanks Julie,
The pain seems to be worst when I am sitting or laying on my right side,so I am wondering if it might be a nerve!! My uro said that it might be my colon so I guess I will have that check out, just glad that there is someone else that has that burning.
      Thanks,Brenda

Before I started any kind of treatment, I felt like my ovaries wer just rolling and twisting. Everything down there burned and was in pain like I got kicked in the crotch every 5 seconds. Once I started treatment, after several months, those feelings started to go away. My back and neck can also be affected. It's just all part of IC.

I too burned down there and painful sex!!! Also have have bv twice since Feb.which I had never had.I have neck problems(pinch nerve) and I am on klonopin for that.It also helps with the burning in my side,
She gave me Tylenol with codeine for pain.I also take a probiotic.
I feel alittle better today, burning in my back a little. It is so strange but my oldest daughter also has IC since 09.I really do believe that it can run in familys.

No,to tell you the truth I have not talked to her since the hydro.I am surprised that she or her offfice has not called me to see how I am doing. All I know is what she went and told my husband while I was still out! If I don't hear from them tomorrow I am going to call.I am not sure she is going to be the right uro for me!!

Also, tylenol can cause flares. I could never take it.

Great! I just took some, because I started burning real bad, because I haven't had a pyridrum since about 2:00 this morning. I felt ok until about 6 then the burning started!!! I only have 2 pills left. She said that I could be in pain for a few days or weeks!! Should I go to over the counter bladder pain med's when these or gone???

Lots of people can take tylenol, so don't worry about that. a person here has good sucess with taking tylenol #3 for pain and she says it works better for her than other stronger meds,

You can get OTC AZO but if you are still having significant pain and burning I think you should call your Dr. and discuss it with the Dr.

You may have an infection now.

Good luck hope you feel better soon. MG

I take tylenol 3's and they never give me any problems! Hope you feel better! PS. Almond milk helps me alot with burning I no longer have any actually! Only when I flare do I have some... Also switching to an alkalizing water helped me also... having a PH of 7 or higher in water seems to be soothing, as almost all bottled water is actually acidic!

                              28 yrs old,

I have little to no problems now with my bladder, unless I am very stressed out, I forget to take Elmiron for a few days, or I eat or drink something that I know is a trigger...(i.e) like eating a tomato or drinking tea.... Took a long time to get here, but it IS possible to feel good again I just want people who are new to know that IT CAN get better, and for every one person who is suffering, there are hundreds of others who feel GREAT because they have control of thier IC.

What Works: Tylenol 3's, Pyridium, Elmiron (Going on 4 years now!) HOT showers!!!

Medications/ Vitamins: Elmiron-100mg 4x's daily Tylenol 3's/Advil (flaring) Vitamin D, WILD salmon oil 4x gels in the morning, Women's ONE a DAY multivitamin (the gummy kind doesn't make me flare) and PROBIOTICS!
