Hey Folks,
Diagnosed almost 2 years ago. I'm a male.
I like my Urologist but I'm looking for a 2nd opinion (or URO to change to).
Elmiron 6X day << doesn't seem to help
Hydroxyzine : 25mg near bed time << seems to help some.
Playing with herbs << so far no silver bullet.
Next step my URO said was he may send me for Intersim (different doc) or just suggest PT. It's a real let down to hear that when you're sitting there with a nasty flare and he is telling you you're at the end of the line....
Anyways, any suburban URO docs you may recommend would be appreciated. I'm looking for a doctor not only knowledgeable in the by-the-book medicine methods but more importantly a URO that can discuss non-traditional methods that may be herb or diet, for example, related. Handing out a prescription and an ID diet sheet for reference has not worked for me.
I also like my Internal Medicine doctor but when I told him I was diagnosed with IC and was taking Elmiron he asked what it was and how it was spelled......hmm.
