I am seeing a new urologist, I have a stage 4 bladder prolapse, meaning it is protruding out of my vaginal hole. He said I have to be referred to an IC specialist at UCLA to find out if I can have surgery to correct it. He said that when suffering from IC having a bladder sling can cause the IC pain to worsen. Has any one heard of this. I am so uncomfortable, between the prolapse and my IC pain I just want answers and solutions. Thanks for the input...

I have a sling and it hasn't been a problem for me. I've had it for several years now. I couldn't continue to have my bladder protruding --- plus it was difficult to urinate and I wasn't emptying my bladder.

I recently had a sling put in for my bladder prolapse about 3 weeks ago.
I am doing fine a little pain at first for 2 days is all, healing really well. My rectal proplase took longer to heal like a couple of months, but well worth both surgery's. I think if you have a good experienced Uro you will have no problems. I wish you the best and let us know how things turn out for you.
