Thanks for responding. For some reason, I thought it would go away. People keep asking me, well how long do you have to be on this special diet? I didn't have an answer because I thought once I started medication, it would go away and I would be okay. Guess I'm quite mistaken and have a LOT to learn! This forum is so helpful - it's giving me so much more insight into things I can try. I have a long way to go.

This desease as you allready know is incurable for now.

Every icer is different, some people go into remission days, months,or years, and then all of a sudden it acts up.

IC has got doctors baffled, they have thier theorys, but no cures yet.

We desperately need more research and funding for this horrible desease.

All we can do now is pray for a cure, I hope you feel better, maybe you need to see your Uro ASAP.

    First denial, now frustration

Hello all, I was diagnosed with IC in December 2010. I researched some and found this website. When I read about the pain some of you go through, I thought, well I don't need much help, I'm not in any real pain. I'll just do my best to follow the diet and I'll be fine.

Well, it's 6/7 months later, and I'm so frustrated!!! I was doing okay until about a month ago. Every week I get, well I call them bladder shots, lol, but I guess the correct term is bladder installations? I don't take any oral medications for IC right now. Well, I always have urine left over, every week. A lot. Is it normal to make some progress and then go backwards? I'm trying to figure out what changed in my diet, or what I need to change.

I'm even more frustrated because I'm feeling sorry for myself. I never do that! I told myself I would beat this, but from what I'm reading, it's chronic, so I don't know what made me think this would go away. I feel defeated. And now, I'm just starting to feel discomfort, not really pain. It's like a constant pressure, like menstrual cramps. I didn't think it had anything to do with IC because the pain doesn't feel like it's coming from my bladder.

I'm just coming to the realization that I can't do this alone. I feel guilty because some of you are dealing with so much more. If you've gotten this far, thanks for reading my rant.
