Hello all. This is my first post, so please forgive me if i have posted in the wrong place. I was diagnosed with IC when I was 17 and am 34 now. After two years of conventional treatments....and no results....I went the alternative route. I have been symptom free for the last 16 years....until a week ago. I am now trying to figure out the IC diet again, but it seems very confusing because many of the IC diets contradict each other. One thing that I see everyone talking about is the "Vanilla Shake". Since these new meds make me nauseas, a shake sounds great. Does anyone know of a recipe for a shake that is "IC Approved". I just can't afford to eat anything that might upset things anymore than they already are right now. I did order the IC cook book off the site, but it won't be here for about a week. Thank you for your help.

short repy
Hi, I have had IC for about 8 yrs. now, I am 65yrs. old. I was in remission for about 2 yrs. when I had a flare last January and having been struggling to get back into remission ever since. I am determined to do it but would like any support I can get for the IC network and support forum. I feel a bit lost when it comes to the diet although I do have the print out myslef and use that often. I too would like to know about the vanilla shake etc. Anything white rice and bland food recipes would be great. I have sent for a few of the newer books and want to sit down and go over them. But if any of you have some quick great ideas I would love for you to share them with me. If you would like to pm me I would love to correspond with you at this point I could use some daily support and direction as to how to get over my noctoria especially. I have about one good night out of 2 weeks at this point, day times seem to be getting better. Sure hope I get a response from this, as you all know when you are flareing you really could use the help. Sorry about this not being so short.

I order shakes from McDonalds and have no issues. Aren't shakes just vanilla ice cream and milk basically? Just get yourself some good vanilla ice cream and go to town!
