  • Does toddler have IC? please help!!!!

My 22 month old daughter was diagnosed with a UTI this week. She had a high fever, but no other symptoms. The pediatrician checked her urine and she had a lot of white cells and a lot of blood, but no bacteria apparently. Could it be IC?? Oh God, please don't let her get it too!! Can anyone shed any light on this? Is this normal for a toddler still in diapers? I'm so afraid... Please advise, cynthia

Toddlers do get urinary tract infections. I know it's very difficult to not be panic stricken when our children have any kind of urinary problem, but please try not to. How is your pediatrician treating her?

Sending healing and hopefully calming thoughts,
    Donna

I'm with Donna Cynthia.....don't panic and please don't let her see your fear. We pass that down to our kids alot faster than we think. Trust your dr. Make sure that you keep her out of the bubble bath, even bubbles made with shampoo. Because of my IC, my daughter has had her babies taking showers by age 2 and I think that is a wonderful idea Do you think she would like it?? Go in with her the first couple of times and let her try on her own after that....and please stay calm - it happens with little girls.
