  • much sitting...

I am in school for my BA in Education. One thing that I have found challenging with IC (and my health in general) is all the sitting while studying and writing. I have tried doing my work standing up - but I don't know why I have a hard time learning while standing. It doesn't help that "sitting is the new smoking." How do you keep up energy and motivation to keep going, especially when sitting for long periods causes more pain?

I have exactly the same problem. They say that you should sit for 30 minutes, then stand for 10 minutes and then walk for 5 min?? or something like that. It's hard... I have a sit stand desk that I use but my basic rule is that anytime I'm on the phone, I'm out of my chair and walking around!!

Great degree that you are getting. We need more educators!

I have to keep changing positions. My IC pillow helps --- and having a pillow behind my back also does.
