  • Gluten is the culprit

Just have to say I've been in an IC remission for many years. I'm currently having a flare up now just cos I ate some gluten last night ugh. Turns out I have celiac gene (but not celiacs). Hopefully this flare up will go away soon!
    Current Medications:

    25mg of Amitriptyline.
I tried the vesicare and it SUCKS. ZERO improvement with Cephalexin.

I hope so soon. Is this the first you know about the gene?

Flare-up is gone already after a couple of days no gluten. I found out about the gene a few years ago, immunologist told me to go on a gluten free diet because my eyes and mouth were so dry. Since then I've had no IC only when I eat gluten!
      Current Medications:

      25mg of Amitriptyline.
I tried the vesicare and it SUCKS. ZERO improvement with Cephalexin.

So interesting that you wrote this...I have 2 variants for Celiac disease and am going to cut out all gluten and see if it makes a difference. I did my testing through 23 and me. I am hoping you find some relief from your flare.

I hope cutting out gluten works for you! It did take longer to go into remission the first time I cut out gluten (I can't remember how long exactly). Flare up only lasted a couple of days that time luckily. Weird I posted this in 2021 but its coming up as 2022. I seem to be able to eat a bit of gluten without any issues but I'm pregnant again and super sensitive so staying away from it completely for now.
