  • Life is GOOD :)

    Hi Girls.....

I know it must have been month now, since I last visited this board
But I basicly have totally forgotten abaut my IC
I have been totally asymptomatic ( SP) for a year or two...I eat and drink ANYTHING I want and life is GREAT hat
But by no means have I stoped my meds !!
I still take 100mg of ZOLOFT/SID and two tablets of the ELMIRON/ SID in the morning.
My URO told me that if I do OK that way, to just
keep taking my meds that way and to enjoy life wink
He wants to do a full Blood Test in one year to make sure my Liver and Kidneys are still OK and in proper working order ( been on all these meds and all )
Anyways... I just wanted to give this message of hope to everyone, who doesn't feel so good... and to let everyone know I am still arround hi
    I love you all grouphug
    Christine
I promise not to laugh... if you promise not to cry

Awesome, Misery!!!! scream Please, please, please stick around or visit to offer hope to the newer people!!!! They need folks like you sharing the good times.

      Diagnosed August 2001

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)

I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

I am soooo greatfull for your post! I am newly diagnosed and it gives me such hope. I'm only 26 and want to start a family and so many other things. I have very mild IC with just very annoying frequency, maybe there is hope. Did you do anything different? Have a baby, go on/off birth control? Did starting Zoloft have any effect? I went off that in combo with going off B.C. pills, thats when it all started.

So HAPPY for you!! - Erin

                  No ERIN...

I did not do anything different other than my dietchange and taking tons of PRELIF and I went into full remission BEFORE my HYRDO to get a D/X..
I did have mini flares from time 2 time and started the ZOLOFT and ELMIRON shortly there after
I followed the diet for a very long time and slowly started 2 add some of the no/no foods back,
well I am completly of the diet eating and drinking anything I want, without the prelief...YAHOOOOOO lmao
                  I have no symptoms whatsoever...no urgency...no pressure...no frequence...never did have pain with my IC...nothing!!!!

I been where you and many others are...I was 33 years old and thought my life was over, I was deeply depressed and even suicidel ( sp) and very much scared of the future!!
My life I have back...the way it was before I got IC... I have a mild case of IC and the DR. said it wil probaply not advance, well nobody really has all the answers, but 4 right now... life is good and yes I will stick arround 2 over all the hope I can give... you are the ones that helped me through my darkes moments and keept me from going insane.. the whole IC familie , everyone on this board have truly inspiered me and given me a new outlook and lease on life... you are truly familie hi grouphug kissing
