I am almost too scared to post on here, rattling the cage of the gods so to speak, but its been 8 months now and counting. I have had some days when I have had maybe an our or so of discomfort but nothing I could not deal with and things seem to be holding.
I live in the UK so am not able to get all the treatments that you in the USA do so had to look at a different route. Buying a book on the subject I read through it twice and was so encouraged to see that someone who had had the awful thing was healed and had some positivve input. I started the diet with a flourish, and have never looked back - the diet does make me think of some wise words of my mother "everything fun in life is either illegal, immoral or fattening" - cut out all the nice things, the glass of wine, the tea, coffee- you know the story. At the time had also suffered from IBS and found that flares of one always triggered the other. I began to wonder if they were not perpahs one and the same.
OK so never proved that one, but treating my IBS worked very successfully with the bladder as well, and as for the Vulvodyinia. OUch....well my wonderful GP put me on HRT which stopped the Vulvodyina in its tracks within 2 days.
This weekend past I went to a party in London and risked having a wrap made with wheat - one of the No NO's of IBS. I was cautions and drank about 2 liters of water along with it....and so far so good.
I have concentrated on the affordable treatments, I have accupuncure - whcih I get free from my number one son who is trained in Chinese Medicine, helps me relax and makes me quite gaga. Herbal tea, totally red bush (rooibos) day in and day out, and stuck to the diet, with the occasional help of Marshmallow root tea as well.
I don't know how much this helps, but I just wanted everyone out there to know, everyone finds what works for them and sometimes it might be something as simple as cutting out a few foods that really annoy your bladder.
Lots of love

ps. just to fillyou in, I have had IC for 10 years, I suspect caused by a full frontal attack of antibiotics, continuing for almost a year....doctor actually used the expression "the big guns" when prescribiing them. Within a year I was in misery and no one would listen to me, drank the cranberry, did all the wrong things and ended up in a mess. I thank God every day that I wake up feeling well.
