  • Can't believe I have IC (newly diagnosed)

Hi everybody! I'm new to this, so I have some issues. My Urologist has been trying to test me for IC for close to three years now, and I resisted. I almost always have blood in the urine, and I've had Kidney stones before and a few infections. The reason I did'nt agree with him about my Bladder is because all my pain is on my right side where my Kidney is. Although I've had kidney stones and infections, my Kidneys are fine. I finally agreed to the bladder testing and My Doctor could tell right away I had IC. He said I had all the text book signs. I do have some pain in my abdomen, but I have a hiatal hernia, so its hard to know whats causing it. I also have alot of unusual symptoms such as dizziness, numbness and problems swallowing. I do have a cardiologist who diagnosed me with sinus brady cardia.( low heart rate ) My question to everyone is can IC flare ups affect your blood pressure or heart rate?
Hope you have a pain-free day! Ronni B.

    Welcome to the board

I have had my blood pressure rise with my pain. I had an episode a couple of months ago and was in the hospital for it. Luckily it resolved itself after I got the pain under control.

You will find a wealth of information here and most of all support. We are all here for you

I am sure IC can affect your blood pressure.. I didnt have high blood pressure until I was dg with IC.. The doctor said it was prob from the pain and also pain meds can raise your blood pressure...So I dont think IC causes it but I do think it contributes to it...
