This is definitely a good army to have on your side. Glad you're feeling better.
    Kim

    Diagnosed August 2001

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)

I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

            Back From Dr.

            Hi,

Thanks So Much For The Kind Words. Just Got Home From Doctors Visit. I Was In So Much Pain I Was Taking 2-3 Uerelle Daily. Something I Originally Took Once A Day.

She Said Since I Took Only One Urelle Daily For The Last Year She Wanted To Get On This Quickly. I Figured She Would Try Another Med. She Said She Was Going To Put Elmiron Directly In My Bladder "now". Good Thing I Did Not Know This Before Visit I Would Have Put Myself In A Frenzy.

I Asked Why That Way As Opposed To Tablets. This Is What "she" Said. The Instillation Will Work Quickly, Elmiron Takes About 6 Mos To Start Working And That When Taken Orally The Body Only Gets A Small Amount. She Said We Will Do It Weekly For 6 Weeks.

Because I Had Read Here That Many Have Tried It, I Was Not Nearly As Frightened As I Might Have Been. She Said For Me To Hold For One Hour. So Here I Am At Home And It's 2 Hours Later And I Am Still Holding On To My Miracle Tonic. I Figure The Longer I Hold It The Better. It Did Make Me Feel Better Right Away.

It Wasn't Pleasant But Not Horrible Either. I'm Of The Frame Of Mind When It's Being Done I Just Tell My Body "this Is A Good Thing" So I Have 6 Weeks Of This And I Shall Post Each Visit As It May Help The Next Person And So On.

            Thankfully,

            Momere

Hope it works for you. My doctor doesn't like me to hold installs any longer than he says.

                Instills?

                Hi,

You Said Your Doctor Doesn't Like You To Hold Instills Longer Than What He Says? Did He Give A Reason?

My Doctor Did Say Hold For One Hour. I Assumed Longer Might Be Better. Anyone Else Told How Long To Hold? Anyone After 6 Instills Better Or Is This Going To Be An Ongoing Thing?

Should I Start Feeling A Little Better Each Day? I Started Drinking Decaf Coffee, I Read Folgers Decaf Has No Caffene. Also Does Anyone Know If It's Ok To Drink The New Folgers "easy On The Stomach" Coffee. It's New And The Commercial And Advertisement Say New And Easy On The Stomach. I Look Like "i'll Say Poop" Not Having Coffee In The Morning.

                Thankfully Yours,

                Momere
