Hi!
My name is Mo, I am 39 years old and was just confirmed with ic 3 weeks ago. I live in Mexico City and after 7 years of constant pain and who knows how many doctors I decided to go to Houston to see a urogynecologist who knows about ic. I had to do the research and find a good doctor all by myself because no one could help me here, I was going crazy. Now, at least I know I´m in good hands. I had a hysterectomy done at the same time as the hydrodistention 3 weeks ago and was left with some pain which I´ve been controling with Ultram 50mg when severe. I have two children, wanted more but always had trouble getting pregnant. I had fibroids and long lasting periods that´s why the hysterectomy.
Yesterday I went to see an acupuncturist for the pain and see how that goes.
It´s so sad how sometimes this condition can take over your life. I´m in a terrible mood while in flares, get stressed and how that stress makes that pain worse. It´s comforting to know that I´m not alone because I thought I was for the past seven years, like many of you say. This support group is wonderful. It´s hard to live in Mexico with this because hardly no one knows about ic. I will have to travel to Houston often to see my doctor there which is a burden, but I need to be sure I´m beeing taken care of.
I hope my pain is now due to the surgery and will get better in the following weeks.
I send my best to everyone,
Mo
