Hi there. I am 29 and was just this week diagnosed with IC. Thankfully, my doctor knew about it and was able to figure out what it was. My symptoms started showing up the end of January. After being treated with antibiodics for what was thought to be a bladder infection, and months of bladder pressure, urgency and light pain in the abdomen, I have just yesterday started taking Elmiron. It's going to take me a bit to get used to taking 3 pills a day, but I'm hoping that since we caught it early, we can do some good with it. I've read some threads on her and just feel awful for anyone who had to go through these symptoms for years or decades without relief. How madenning
I had never heard of IC. I was actually doing a search online last week trying to see if I could find anything relating to my symptoms and came across an archived thread where someone mentioned IC so I used a search engine to see what it was. I hadn't mentioned it to my doc yet as a possibility since the symptoms matched, she came up with it on her own
I'm glad I've found a group of people who obviously know and understand what I'm going through. Let me just tell you, I am soooooooooooo sick of going to the bathroom!
