My gyno also prescribed detrol LA. I'm a little worried because when I don't pee a lot, that's when I get the bladder pain. I'm worried this will happen with the Detrol. Any thoughts?

I was on it 2 different times.......the first time I did fine for several years. Then I had to go off it after my Gastric Bypass surgery. When I started back up a few months later I got horrible retention problems and could no longer take it. So the dr. had me start using the Oxytrol patch. And that's worked great. It's a patch you wear on your abdomin and you change it twice a week. I think the med in it is actually Ditropan...the other bladder med. So there's several things you can try if one doesn't work. I'd just start with one and if it doesn't work after a few weeks ask for something else to try. Good luck! Roxie

For IC I use Elmiron, Elavil and Freeze dried Aloe Vera (it works likes Elmiron, but naturally)and Azo as needed. I also take Zegerid, Randitine for Barrett's Esophagus. (which causes me to have constant yeast infections!)I take Cymbalta for Neuopathy/Myopathy pain. I use the Climara patch for menopause symptoms. I'm on a very strict diet because of the IC, IBS and Gastric Bypass. I take Primal Defense Probiotics and whole food Iron.
I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!:woohoo:
