  • B-12

My Doctor found I am very low in "D" and "B" extreamly low. I can take the "D" without trouble. I was getting B-12 shots at the Doctors office (no problems) but I did not feel like going there so often so I bought "B" pills. After just the first one I felt terrible! I'm afraid to take another. Anyone here know more about taking "B" orally? Maybe it was just a bad day for me. Thanks in advance for any information you can give me. Hugs, Ziggy

Hi, unfortunately you might have to keep getting those shots as Vit B is on my list of things to stay away from that my urogyn gave me. Also Vit C is on the list.

I take sublingual B-12 and I don't have any problems at all. I have to go in every once in a while for a series of shots but I take the supplements I hopes that I avoid that pain of having to go to the office all the time. I asked if I could give them to myself (I have no problem with it) but my doc said that's a no-go. I know that the shots make me feel SO much better, and I don't think the oral supplements do as good of a job, but I'm trying to do something!!!
I also asked Julie (dietician Julie) and she said most IC'ers don't have a problem with B-12. I would finish your series of shots and then give it a try, either sub or pill form. You'll KNOW if it's a problem. Like I said, for me, no problem. I know how crap you feel when your B-12 is low, so good luck!!!

On the vitamin C, some people find they can take Esther C without problems.

Thats good to know, I just bought some of the Esther C, haven't taken it yet though. Since all of the good citrus fruits are out and tomatoes I keep thinking I should be taking some C.
