  • Elmiron

Hey I had some side-effects from Elmiron, and was just interested if anyone else had any issues with the drug.

Here are a few of my side-effects after taking Elmiron for 2 weeks:
    Mild nausea
    Dizziness
    Vision going black
Falling over (tipping forward, losing balance while standing)
Spacey, not feeling like I'm fully aware and unable to concentrate

I stopped taking the medication, and was wondering if anyone might have experienced some of these symptoms and had better luck with a different treatment?

Sugar level may be an issue because I believe that I'm slightly hypogycemic.

Hi, I just started it yesterday but the side effects listed with my medicine did list dizziness and nausea. Did you start anything else new at the same time? I only ask because the 10mg of pamelor (tricyclic) was giving me those same symptoms. I felt like I was in a fog all day long.

Well today is only the first day for me but so far so good. Last night nothing, this morning a little nauseas a couple hours after I took it but I hadn't eaten yet so that was probably why. I've been fine the rest of the day. I am taking 100mg 2 x a day. I was a little dizzy today but some days I am like that especially if I get overheated and our office was hot today.

I am hoping it works, otherwise I will be doing instillations by fall....
Hope you feel fine when you start! I read stomach upset was the biggest side effect but I take omeprazole which usually keeps those type of symptoms at bay.

No, I wasn't taking anything else. I was prescribed 100 mg. 3x daily, although I wasn't able to take more than 2 doses some days because I couldn't avoid driving and the dizziness made me too impaired.

Wow, that sounds pretty yucky, did most of it go away? And more importantly is it working for you? My doc said its about 45% effective. I am sure hoping I am one of the 45%!
