  • Anyone have severe bladder pain with palpation?

So during an internal exam where the Dr presses on my abdomen and pushes up towards my bladder, or if I'm sitting/lying and one of my kids jumps or hits my low abdomen, or if I'm simply leaning over a counter and pressure is put on my bladder I get severe pain/burning/ and a sensation like I'm about to pee myself. Does anyone else get this?

Hi Amanda,I get a very sore, tender sort of feeling if anything presses on my bladder,or ir I lean against a counter but I don't necessarily feel like I'm going to pee. The burning is there all the time.

See I can be having a pretty "good" day symptom-wise, but still have severe pain if I get hit in the lower abd/bladder area.

I guess it's sort of like having a bruise. It might not be bothering you, but if you touch it or bump it, it's going to hurt. Not that our bladders are bruised but it's the same idea.

Yes I have the same sensation on and off with extreme sensitivity in that area even if I'm not having any outward symptoms. The only time I don't feel it is right after I've taken an antispasmodic.

The bladder pain is the worse. I feel so bloated. I have so much gurgling and movement in my bladder. I used to be able to sit ups and touch my toes. I can't even do that now.

Pelvic examinations are a problem for most ICers. Sometimes a gyn will be very gentle, but it's still uncomfortable.
