    Anyone know of good immediate stress induced flare releivers.... I was stressed out this morinng for only maby 10 min and my bladder immediatley reacted... now I am peeing every 20 MIN and going INSANE right now I have tried taking a hot shower, lying in bed with a heating pad, breathing deep.. nothin is helping right at the moment! I dont think my urine is acidic at the moment as all I ahve bene drinking is alkalized water... I think I just upset the nerves... feeling sorry for myself right now

    I have little to no problems now with my bladder, unless I am very stressed out, I forget to take Elmiron for a few days, or I eat or drink something that I know is a trigger...(i.e) like eating a tomato or drinking tea.... Took a long time to get here, but it IS possible to feel good again I just want people who are new to know that IT CAN get better, and for every one person who is suffering, there are hundreds of others who feel GREAT because they have control of thier IC.

    What Works: Tylenol 3's, Pyridium, Elmiron (Going on 4 years now!) HOT showers!!!

    Medications/ Vitamins: Elmiron-100mg 4x's daily Tylenol 3's/Advil (flaring) Vitamin D, WILD salmon oil 4x gels in the morning, Women's ONE a DAY multivitamin (the gummy kind doesn't make me flare) and PROBIOTICS!

    Try a long hot bath with soothing music and think of pleasant thoughts. If you have any peridium take it and any muscle relaxers take them as well.

      Hey thanks I think it is sloowwllly subsiding... I just took a muscle relaxer.. im going to try and sleep, I have been trying all day but bladder keeps waking me up.

        Stress Flare

        I really like the excercizes in ISA Herrera's Book "Ending Female Pain" My PT also taught me a couple of moves (including a cool squat while leaning against a couch) that has taken be out of a pelvic floor muscle spasm when I stress. I work at a public hospital als a social worker, so about 2 a day I shut my office door and do some streches.
        She is also on line at Renew Physical Therapy New York and they have things you can print out!

        I, too and caught in this early stage of my body and mind cycling though the stress of this new illness, but I will not be DEFEATED>
