Hi All.
I've been lurking around for a week or two to get a better understanding of other peoples symptoms.
This seems like a great community and resource!
I originally started having lower left sharp pelvic pain shortly after kidney stone surgery a few months ago. Then a few times a week, I would wake up in the morning and void - only to be followed by a horrible left pain.
As a couple of months went by, on the first day of ovulation, I would wake up, go to the bathroom and then just as I finish - HORRRIBLE pain - to the point where I could not stand up or move.
I had an array of tests (pelvic ultrasound, CT, xrays, blood tests, urine samples, pap smears) and to my surprise, there was not a massive ovarian cyst like I imagined there would be. No urinary stricture from the kidney stone surgery.
They did find some bacteria in my urine and I was put on antibiotics.
Which didn't do anything. Also the latest ultrasound shows an enlarged cervix.
Anyway, when I went back to the gyno still complaining of lower abdominal pressure, INSANE bloating, constipation, pelvic pain, pain after voiding, he gave me a pelvic exam and told me my bladder was extremely tender.
Followed by this, he gave me that Potassium test which hurt pretty bad.
He did not administer any further tests because I'm currently without insurance and said he was confident that I had I.C.
I was kind of skeptical since I didn't have the urge to urinate, didn't urinate frequently, no burning with urination. I told him I thought I probably had endo since my periods are way out of control and come and go when they want.
But he didn't wanna hear about it.
Last week (two days after the potassium test), I was up until 4:30am because I had to go to the bathroom 7 times that night and my bladder started aching/burning. It was the first time I actually had that symptom.
Anyway, today I'm going to ask my urologist what he thinks about my gyno's diagnosis. His office his more flexible with uninsured patients so maybe they'll do a cysto. (?).
I still think there's something wrong with me female-wise.
I see endo and IC sometimes come hand and hand.
Once I get health insurance, I will see a different gyno.
Anyway, I'm rambling.
Anyone else have symptoms like this? Or start out this way?
Nice to meet you all.
