  • My IC Poem

One day you say to me,
    I'm taking away your sun,
    Exausted you will be.
    Your multi tasking's done.

    Hours of pain for thee,
I'll keep you on the run,
Thirty times a day you'll pee,
    Reducing all your fun.*

    You wanted all my power,
    No more "live to eat",
You'll plan each and every hour,
So I'll *have somewhere to wee.

My guts may be in pain,
But I'm putting on the heat.
You may think that you are rare,
    But I'm making you retreat.

    Now you want my hair,
My love, and all my glee,
    When I have flare,
You bring me to my knees.*

But you can't have this flower,
My smile, or all that's me.*
No, I won't sit and cower,
    I'll beat you cruel IC.

Exactly. In the beginning it is so overwhelming, and because it is individualized in treatments and in it's wickedness, I thought I'd share. Thank you for responding to me. May Your journey be blessed with joys above your pain.

Hi, kaperino ~ Yes, IC certainly tries to have it's way with our lives and until we understand what we can do to tame it, we've all felt the sorrow of having our lives controlled. I also love your positive end to your poem. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your voice. Your kind words for the poem, and for reaching out. Your journey has been a certain trial. Was a solo fighter for my health for awhile, and thanks to the Internet and prior heroes and heroines as yourself, I found that I was not alone. My wish is no one, man, women or child not gave to suffer from this or any disease for that matter. But with the grace of you and others who post and share, I have affirmation that this condition can be conquered. I'm still in my journey, finding what works. For tonight, it's a hot cup Of chamomile tea, which rests between my thighs between sips, and a heating pad on my belly. Trying a lidocaine patch on my belly. But tomorrow! I plan on dancing!

                      Morning, Ginger!

How nice of you to drop a note my way! After a rough few days, I am doing much better. Am sitting here having my chamomile tea, watching the hummers protect the feeder like imperial fighters. How about for you? How do you find your days? Would really like to hear how you manage your IC when you feel like it.

Our garden has come in. We planted low acid tomatoes in case that I might have one. I had a slice on my sanwhich yesterday afternoon. Had no to my bladder. That was a nice surprise. Have not wanted to try as symptoms were in a very bad flare. But it was nice to me!

Need to put on apples to mKe applesauce for zucchini bread. Took this week ofwf from work prior to rectocele surgery. That may be the real treason for the pelvic floor disorder...

Wishing you a pain free day!

                      Kath,
