  • During a flair

Ok so would a flair be the spasm or the painful urination? A few days ago I had spams and now I have the burning pee. since I am new to all this I am not sure....I thought all my bladder problems were from my floppy bladder neck I had no idea this was going on to, but now do since the baldder is all better. I just took some AZO to see if that helps. Also does anyone get a discharge when they urinate?

Hi, minrudd ~ I'm sorry your having these symptoms and anxiety which I must admit is quite normal for anyone new to dealing with IC. Unfortunately, whenever I hear "burning" I think of the possibility of an infection. You may want to call your doctor (before the weekend) and ask to bring in a urine sample so they can check it. If no infection, which is common to IC'ers, you may be experiencing a flare and may want to try some IC techniques to relieve the pain. Mixing a little baking soda in water and drinking it may calm things down. In the beginning of my IC that was a life saver. The AZO may also help with the symptoms, but then again, it may mask the pain of an infection. The IC Diet is also a wonderful place to start and you can find it here on this site. I don't know what kind of discharge you're speaking of. Again, if this is not normal for you I would advise you to call your doctor.

This is a great site for help with your questions, anxiety, etc. but many times you really need to discuss with your doctor since everyone is so different with symptoms and what works. Take care of yourself and keep us posted.
Never heard of IC til suspected....Never knew so many suffer from it. Praying for a cure. I've found answers...so can you...keep the hope.

Any time I experience an increase in bladder pain, I call it a flare.
