do you burn every night?!?!?! If so you poor thing!! It's been days on days off since I was diagnosed.............I can take the pelvic pain due to yrs of horrid period cramps, but the burning makes me crazy.................my heart goes out to you, this is such a hard and exhausting illness..............
I've had IC for 21 years, and my main symptom has always been urethral burning. I have had a handful of days (maybe a dozen-or-so) in which I've had no burning over the years. So burning is not a 'flare' for me, as it is just a thing I live with on a daily basis 24/7.
When I'm flaring the burning intensifies, but I also get frequency and pain to go along with it. I truly do count ice as a blessing, for I don't know how in the world I would ever get to sleep at night without it.

i've had a flareup this week and today it is really bad. burning all day. like you, i burn all the time. never without some burning, but when i get a flareup that i have to resort to pain medication, it's so much worse. have not tried the ice. will certainly do that today and tonight.
yes it is just awful. i burn all the time but this past week i've had a flareup and the burning is so bad. i just took some baking soda in some water to try balance the ph in my urine and stop some of the burning. wish there was some medication to help. nothing i take seems to work but strong meds, like percoset and i don't want to take that all the time.
