  • Meds not working need help

I had been taking Norco for over a year when I reached tolerance and it stopped working. I was placed on Oxy. Did nothing. Then tramadol. Maybe 25% relief. Was just given MSIR (Morphine Sulfate Immediate Release yesterday). It is doing ABSOLUTELY nothing. I believe I am sensitized to it and many other drugs. This IC pain is insane. I had a laparoscopy to remove endo in January. Surgeon believes IC is the driving force behind the pain. My pain doctor has worked with me the best he can. Now I have to go back once again and either go back on tramadol or try something else. I am so done with IC pain. I have tried all IC remedies natural and RX. The antidepressants, overactive bladder meds, Uribel, ALL of it. Did pelvic floor therapy, tens unit, heating pad, hot showers, natural supplements, acupuncture.. you name it I’ve done it. I’m tired and worn out. I’ve been to 6 Urologist’s, 3 pain docs, 5 gynos, and an oncologic surgeon who did the laparoscopy. I have tried. Only thing that has helped me is Toradol which is a major anti inflammatory given by injection and lasted 5-6 hours for me. It can only be given once a month. I AM AT MY WIT’S END. I have no life at 29 years old. Does anyone have knowledge on RX anti inflammatories or what is safe to take long term.... my IC is very inflammation based.

Have you tried instilling lidocaine or marcaine? Some do them at home --- even more often than once daily. I'm sure you've already tried keeping a detailed diary to see if you can identify triggers that are unusual for you. Have you had a hydrodistention? I'm grasping at straws here --- I really would like to help you.

I cannot undergo any type of instillations or anything of that nature due to the risk of a UTI. Even having a catheter placed poses a major risk. I am high risk for cdiff occurrence and cannot take antibiotics arbitrarily. I avoid getting sick like the plague as I have had cdiff a number of times and have had 2 fecal transplants to eradicate the nasty GI infection. Additionally, cdiff ruined my life 4 years ago and I still suffer from ptsd of it to this day. I am in therapy and have OCD as well as anxiety due to that and other major health issues. Thanks for your suggestion though.
