  • Flares

I'm on my 3rd month of long term antibiotics after five different ones that didn't work so technically I've been on them since 2/21. I have a question for anyone who can relate. Do you think your nerves and added stress cause a flare, OR do you think being in a flare causes unbearable stress? Kind of silly but I keep asking myself which one is it! I've basically given up on the antibiotics and don't know what to do next. I'm on my 8th urologist and he insists I don't have IC. Only two of my previous doctors said I do. Still searching for answers as I sit here shaking in pain.

There's no question about the fact that stress can bring on flares --- and that pain can cause stress. Have you tried taking something to help you relax?

Wow --- 8 urologists? Is there any one of those doctors who feels you have interstitial cystitis? Is there any one you felt okay with for a time? The reason I ask is that it can take trying different treatments --- and I wonder if any one of the eight might work with you to help you feel better. When I was diagnosed I was the first ICer in my uro's practice. He researched IC treatments and treated my IC until he retired.

I hope you find something to help soon .

    Stay safe
