I'm on the BC pill and I still flare every single month on day 14 then have trouble through the rest of my cycle. My period causes a huge flare too. My doc wanted to put me on continuous BC pills but my insurance won't cover it b/c they consider it "experimental."

I can't imagine trying to conceive with IC pain around ovulation. You are a strong women! Its amazing what we'll do when we REALLY want a baby, isn't it?

I am like the other poster....I take pain meds and sit with a heating pad on my pelvis and crotch and wait for it to go away....

hi there.. me and my husband have been ttc for over 2 years now... and dont it just suck the best time to get pregnant your bladder has to act up.. the best advise i could give you is.. "make it really fast.. it'll be over in a second" ttc puts a complete damper on a sex life real quick...promise
but the pay off in the end will be worth it that you will forget that it wasnt as fun as you both may have thought it would have been..
    good luck and Gid bless

I flare usually only b/c of ovulation and my period - we're going to come off my current meds next month (hopefully!) so we can TTC later this spring and I'm nervous b/c I feel so poorly on them while I go through these times!

try lying quietly afterwards with your heating/cold pack (whatever works best for you) for a few minutes before hitting the bathroom to see if it helps your muscles at all perhaps?...i wait no more than 15-20 mins after sex to pee...I get UTI's so easily...

hope you find something that works for you!

I was just diagnoised in Nov but when I got my period I was in a lot more pain. My doctor put me on continious birth control so I don't have to worry about that anymore. I still feel like crap all the time but at least it's not way worse during that time of the month.

I'm assuming you are trying to get pregnant?? I absolutly can't have sex when I feel the way you do. Your stronger than me! I would try and drink alot of water. (maybe put some baking soda in it) And also try a heating pad. Wish you lots of hugs,

    Ovulation causing flare

Wow, I should have stayed home today. I am having the worst IC flare I can remember from the last six months, I have actually been great lately. Since we are ttc, all I have taken today is pyridium and prelief. I might have to take a tylenol soon or there is no way that I will be able to have sex later.
Anyone else flare everytime they ovulate? Any tricks of the trade I am missing?
Working...
