  • Ovulation kit

Hi everyone!!! My husband and I are trying to have a baby. No luck yet. We are having difficulty in that whenever we make love I am in sooo much pain for days to weeks after wards we can only try a few times a month if we are lucky. Has anyone tried the First response ovulation kit? ( I am not sure if that is the exact name or not.) It is supposed to let you know your most fertile days. It costs like $200 and I didn't want to spend the money if it wasn't going to help. I am getting desperate. We have waited so long to try and now we aren't having any luck. The doc. says I am o.k. and hubby too, so why aren't we pregnant yet? Thanks for listening. Let me know if any of you have tried this kit. Thanks again. All of you ICers out there that are pregnant are keeping me going and helping me to have faith that our time will come.

Hi Becky - I understand what you're going through. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since June of last year and no luck yet. We've gone through all the tests and there does seem to be a mucus problem on my end. So we'll be starting insemination this cycle. In any case, we have to use the ovulation kits also. My Dr. recommended Clear Plan Easy, they're usually about $15 for 5 kits. Was your Dr. talking about a fertility monitor or something like that, I know they can get kind of expensive. We have a son who will be 4 next week, it took us almost a year to get pregnant with him. I'm sure the mucus problem was there then too, we just got lucky. But with him we tried something called 'the cue'. I got it from a friend so it didn't cost anything, but I know you can rent them from the manufacturer/Dr . Basically it tells you exactly when you're ovulating. It worked the 1st time, but not the 2nd time around. Wishing you luck, I know how difficult this can be especially when having sex isn't always very comfortable. Good luck!
