Have any of you been on clomid? How did it affect your IC? What other side effects did it have? Mood swings, hot flashes etc. I am going to start taking it soon and was just wondering what to expect. Also did you get pregnant on it?

Hi Kristy, I just tried to post you a little note and I guess I deleted it! I was on Clomid about a week and half ago..the only side effects that I got were a little irritable and some headaches...I get headaches everyday anyway so it was hard to see if they were from the Clomid!

What is it that you are doing? IUI or IVF? This is our first try at IUI...Did you stop taking your meds? Doesn't it make you scared?! I was on Elmiron and DDAVP and was told to stop taking the Elmiron..the DDAVP is safe and to help me sleep, the dr. said to take an antihistamine that will make you drowsy...or Gravol..

Hope this helps and don't worry about the Clomid! The nurses are constantly monitoring your ovaries to see what's happening..if you have any concerns, don't be afraid to ask them! Take care,

I'm taking clomid because after my miscarriage in May I have not ovulated. They just did a hormone test on me Monday and my levels of progesterone were terribly low. I want to get pregnant so they said I could go ahead and try to clomid. We already have a 4 year old. It was so easy to get pregnant with her. This really is new to me having a hard time getting pregnant.

        Hi Ladies,
A little positive story about Chlomid. About two years ago I went off my IC meds, went off the pill, and my husband and I tried to get pregnant. After about nine months of not having a period my doc decided to look at my ovaries using an ultrasound and found I had something called PCOS..Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (basically my ovaries were full of cysts). I was sent to a fertility specialist who, within a month, put me on progestrone to induce a period....glucophage (it is suppose to help PCOS patients) and Chlomid. To make a short story long (hee hee) I ended up pregnant that month. It was awesome. I felt very lucky because I had no side effects with Chlomid except for a headache and it worked like a charm. I now am the mommy of a three month old.
My best friend also went on Chlomid two months ago and she just called to tell me they are expecting.
Wishing you both end up with the same result we did soon.
        Hugs..Angie <img src="graemlins/baby.gif" border="0" alt="[baby]" />
Do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around..that's what it's all about..whoooo!
While we have the gift of life,
it seems to me the only tragedy
is to allow part of us to die --
        whether it is our spirit,
        our creativity,
        or our glorious uniqueness.

Thanks for the replies. I am looking forward to having help getting pregnant this month. It is funny I now have another problem that has left my dr's going we just don't know why you aren't having a period. We have done ultrasounds, Nothing there. The only thing is I have a very low progesterone level. I am hoping and praying the clomid works.

Hi Angie, thanks for your words of encouragement! Kristy, I hop everything works well for you..I just came back from the clinic and now I have to be monitored everyday - they think my follicles will be ready by Tuesday or Wednesday and then I get the Profasi shot! Kinda nervous...

Kristy, what is your new problem? I hope it's ok..I didn't ovulate either and the Clomid has worked for me, so hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and keep me posted!
