hi, this is my first time on this site and i am going through my second round of dmso treatments i am trying to get pregnant so i am getting 12 more dmso treatments.. has any one hasd treatments than gotten preg.. and felt better

Hi: I was having dmso treatments and then found out I was pregnant. My doc would not let me continue them because not enough is known about dmso in pregnancy. I did have heparin/lydocaine instills while I was pregnant which really helped me. The last three months of pregnancy I went into remission and didn't resume treatments until my son was a year old. Hope this helps.

Hi Jackie,
I never have had dmso but I became pregnant while on elmiron. Once I knew I stopped them. Everything turned out fine. I didn't take anything throughout my pregnancy.
Twice I had uti's. That was a pain because it triggered a flare. The uro wanted to do the heparin and lydocaine instills but I got it under control.
He said that was the only treatment he would do for IC while I was pregnant.
Just listen to your uro and ob. They will tell you what's best. There's not enough research on this subject so it's better to be safe than sorry.

I had my 6th and 7th DMSO treatments and then found out I was pregnant. I was also taking imipramine (elavil) and had started elmiron (3 weeks). I found out 4 weeks ago that I was pregnant and am doing better than ever! It is true that only you and your uri know what you should and shouldn't do. I decided to stop all my meds and of course the dmso and so far, so good. I hope you will do well also,

hi it is me again.. i live in nj and iwanted to know if anyone had any referrals for a new uro gyno. i live in sea isel city, nj, i go to dr mckinney in washington townshiop and he really does not know know much about ic and pregnancy.. thanks so much.. jackie

Hi Jackie, My OB doc didn't know alot about it either she was really good though and just researched everything herself she did consult the urologist when she needed. I had my heparin/lydocain treatments done by my family doc though. I'm sorry I can't help you with your question but if you already have a good OB that you like and a uro maybe they would work together through your pregnancy.
