So tired...

    Hi all,

    Thanks for all the helpful advice. Certainly many things to consider. Last night I was up so many times. I've almost resigned myself to be a night owl. My daughter was up to and kept waking up every hour until my husband went in and tucked her in. That was four o'clock and she then slept until 8:30.

    I got results back from a nuchal translucency test and they were very encouraging. I crossed the threshold of 35 and am now considered AMA, advanced maternal age. I don't feel that old, only when I'm flaring. The baby's risk of Downs is very low. The doctor said I would be fine to get a 2nd trimester ultrasound and the AFP tests. Still need to rule of any neural tube defects. Goodness I think we know too much these days, just have access to too many tests.

    I'm about 13 weeks along. I went into remission in the 3rd trimester of my first pregnancy, and I'm praying for the same (if not sooner). I am just glad the baby appears to be doing well. I need to start following the IC diet again. With the Elmiron, (which I have stopped taking), I was able to eat most anything. It's hard to go back, but would be well worth it to get some sleep.

    I went off the Elmiron as soon as I found out I was pregnant, about three weeks into the pregnancy. I worry about effects from that. I am just a worrier by nature.

    Well, much thanks for the feedback. Any suggestions about where to get such a pillow? No doubt my daugther will want one too!

    I totally understand how you feel right now. At times I couldn't tell if the baby was lying on my bladder or if I had an infection, I was peeing so much.
    ICN Lesa gave me good advice while I was pregnant. Get one of those big body pillows to sleep with. Throwing your leg over it as well as your belly having something to hold it up helps tremendously. I loved it. It's so amazing what our bodies put us through getting ready for a newborn. (I always liked to think a normal person, w/o IC, had to get up as much as me. wink )
    I hope everything else that's going on settles down for you as well. grouphug grouphug

    hopeing and praying things will get better for you soon in the mean time it may help if you don't already have this to sign up for medicaid its real easy for preg. mothers to get on this until she has the baby and it will cover you until your six week check up and cover your baby up until a year of age then so on if you wish to keep it going.
    and sign up for W.I.C. this will give you some healthy foods for you and maybe even your little girl you have if she is still under the age 5 and will pay for all the baby's milk until age 1 or if you breast feed it will keep helping you.
    its also easy to get on when your preg.

    I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with so much frequency and lack of sleep lately. That is great that the baby is healthy, even if he or she is pushing against your poor bladder! wink

    Hi everyone,

    Luckily morning sickness has subsided, but I am so tired. I'm up so often at night, that it is hard to get any sleep. I am hoping this will past soon. I worry about my lack of sleep and if it impacts the baby. And my job has become very stressful. My supervisor has changed a lot since she hired a good friend. And my husband's job is up in the air. So the timing is just not that great. On a positive note, the baby looks healthy (was a week ahead of schedule based on ultrasound measures), and Ellen is doing well (only one ear infection this winter).

    I just wish the IC would allow me a little rest. This is the area in my life that it has always had it greatest impact and I am sure the pregnancy doesn't improve the situation.
