    What's everyone using?

I had the Mirena IUD put in in December '06. Wellllll I haven't had a period since. So I had my post-IUD check up and during the pelvic exam the doc felt a cyst--I'm prone to them, have had MANY that have grown and burst--so she did a wait and see approach.

I had an ultrasound done a month after that there were a ton of cysts. Since I can't tolerate hormonal birth control and this IUD is cropping them up, we talked about a hysterectomy. When I saw the OB-surgeon he refused to take my ovaries out since I am 24.

Yeah, forget that they are causing a huge amount of pain and I can't tolerate hormonal b.c. and I really do not want another child right now...what am I supposed to do? He began to tell me that cysts do not cause pain, that maybe my pain was due to other things.

He told me to massage my vaginal walls (no thank you) and I could always see a shrink. ARGH! I have visual documentation that there are cysts PLUS a history of them growing to 10 c.m. in diameter and rupturing at least twice before and I am supposed to see a shrink? And what is a massage to my vaginal walls supposed to do???

I don't know anymore...I got pregnant while on Ortho Evra and the pills irritate my IC like crazy, so I am stuck! Any suggestions?
Mommy to 2 crazy, wonderful kids and wife to the most amazing man in the world!

I'd say a 2nd opinion, and possibly a 3rd is in order. I cant imagine that theres nothing available to help with your situation.
I think though that a hysterectomy is a bit premature.

      Wishing you well.

I'm sorry but "cysts don't hurt"? Well, I wish this man could experience the non-pain of having cysts! What an idiot! I have a history of cysts as well and I can't for the life of me figure out what massaging the vaginal walls would do. I think HE needs to see a shrink!

Get yourself a second opinion! I remember you from a few years back when I was first diagnosed and you were on all the time. I haven't been on regularly in quite some time. I had a hysterectomy because of endo and large cysts with endo growing in them. I am sorry you are going through this.
