  • I think we're....

Adopting!!! I am really excited. My dh and I have prayed long and hard over this one, and talked about it many many times. I have 2 kids already, and we would like more, but I am not ready to get off of Paxil or Elmiron for quite some time to become pregnant. We had talked about adoption way before my IC ever came into being, so now that I have it it just makes so much sense.

We are looking into adopting a baby from Guatemala. We have been pre-approved but have to go through the formal application and all the paperwork. It could take a really long time though.

Well, I had to post this, I am about to bust with excitement!

    Diagnosed August 2001

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)

I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.” ~ Viktor Frankl

      Sara,

I'm so happy for you. I know things will work out. AAAHHH.....I've got 2 little girls you can have if they don't go to bed. But I'll have to have them back in a day or so. Good Luck and keep us posted.

I think that's a wonderful idea. There are definitely children in our world who desperately need loving parents.
