Hi Heather, Jaime is right you do need an old fashioned hug, even if it only cyberwise. I know it is hard for you right now, but hang in there, we are all here for support, and to vent when you feel overwhelmed. Try to take care of yourself a little, as well as everyone else you are helping out, hugs Iris hi grouphug

Portia picked a perfect time to do it! I have been having a real tough time lately. I don't even know where time has been going! One morning last week, I woke up late to get Angel to school (she was only 3 minutes late). I had her wear her brown casual/dress shoes cuz they matched her clothes. Well, I have also been baby sitting my 6 week old neice since last Monday and I had to hurry cuz I had to pick her up and make it to Portia's appointment. Angel got to school at 7:58 and I picked up Ava at 8:15 and made it to Portia's appointment at 8:30. Then the day just got worse. My neice hasn't been feeling well and has the wonderful runs. She was sooo fussy. Portia was getting more and more jealous. I didn't have time to get anything done - nothing at all. Then my sis called and said that she was going to go home and take a nice long bath before coming to pick Ava up! Must be nice! What the heck is a bath?! I barely have time for a quick shower. And, shaving? I don't even know where my razor is anymore! But, I am the "wonderful sis" so I said ok. I had to take Ava and Portia to go pick Angel up from school. Well, Portia is kind of walking, but still having trouble. So, I had to hold her hand and try to carry Ava (not in the carseat cuz she was screaming). It took forever to get to the school building. We got home and my sis got there a couple of minutes later. Then, Angel said, "Mom. You forgot. I was supposed to wear my tennis shoes today. I had gym." I said, "No, Angel. You have gym on Fridays and this is only Thursday. Your teacher was probably reminding you that you have to wear your tennies tomorrow." My sis looked and me and said, "Heather, it IS Friday today." I felt so bad!
All my life has been lately is calming a fussy baby, dealing with Portia being very jealous and helping Angel soothe her pain. (My dad gave Angel some soda and got mad at me when I finally noticed and took it away. He still doesn't think anything is really wrong.) I have been being pulled in so many directions lately. I am totally broke. I am trying to just keep up. I haven't had any time for myself in so long. I don't even get paid for watching my neice. I feel like I am falling apart. The days are just zooming by and leaving me in the dust.
There are times when I miss not having kids and having the total freedom to do what I want when I want. But, then one of my kids does something so cute. My heart just melts!
What Portia did was remind me that life can't always be so serious and perfect. Yeah, maybe I drive a junky car. Maybe I am poor and don't know how I am going to get Portia diapers. Maybe my house isn't perfectly clean. Maybe my legs looks like legs of a guy. So what? It is all temporary. Kids grow up so fast. I want to enjoy that time I have with them. My time will come. I am not saying I don't want a break. I would love to have some adult company! And, yes, I would love to take a nice long bath and actually shave my legs! But, those thing will come when the time is right. I may not believe in God, but I do believe that what goes around comes around. I have always helped many people in my life and I never stop. I like to make people smile. I remember one lady I saw at the store. She was about 40 or so. She was really pretty and didn't look happy at all. She looked like she was feeling down. So, I said, "Hi. I just have to tell you that you are very pretty." She smiled and said that she hasn't heard anyone say that in so long. We stood there and talked for a while. Well, I saw her again a couple months later and she remembered me. She said thank you many times. She said that I gave her a reason to smile that day and she thought of me often because I listened to her. She knew that I really did care.
I have to tell you though that I kick myself in the butt a lot. I have met many people like this. And, who knows how many of them would have been great friends?! But, I get scared that once they find out who I am they won't ever talk to me again. Because I am poor. Because I do deal with depression. Because I am stressed out most of the time.
I am so sorry. I am rambling again.
    I just really needed this.
I was going to go to sleep...lol. But, I don't think I will be able to for a while. Angel woke up and said that she is in real bad pain and Portia isn't feeling well. Great. But, hey, it's only temporary.

    Heather

grouphug grouphug grouphug Portia likes to be naked I guess. My 4 year old niece does too. But we have to tell her to put her clothes back on while there is alot of company there. Her 6 year old sister wants privacy but it is ok that her 4 year old sis can be with her in the bathroom. They are so funny and cute. Thanks for sharing.

started a topic Babies are so innocent!

    Babies are so innocent!

I am just bursting! I have to tell someone what just happened.
I was checking my email while Angel and Portia were watching Aristocats. Portia had taken her shirt off towards the beginning of the movie. I thought it was kind of cute that she had figured out how to get her shirt off. But, I didn't want to bug her - she was really into the movie and looked soooo cute.
Well, I looked at her again about 10 minutes later and she had taken her pants off. I thought, wow she's getting so big. But, I was wondering how she could sit there with only a diaper on when my toes are freezing. So, I put her clothes back on.
Then, I looked at her again after about another 10 minutes.... She had her pants and shirt off again! So, I though, I will just let her go - and I turned the heat up a little so she wouldn't be cold.
Then, my little sis came over to bring me some laundry detergent. She looked at Portia and said, "Portia's naked!". I started laughing and said yeah she won't keep her clothes on. Then I looked a little closer.... She WAS naked! lmao She had taken her diaper off! She was just sitting there watching the movie like nothing was unusual. The look on her face was so cute. She didn't know why my sis and I were laughing so hard - I had tears in my eyes!
Portia is almost 17 months old. She just learned how to climb onto the couch. That's where all of her "stripping" took place. Kids are so amazing.

    Heather lmao
Working...
