Okay, so I'm slow. I have had mine for about 5 years and JUST started using it and I'm 52 eek eek The kids today believe that a cell phone is an actual life line....I've got a niece who's bill averages $400 a month, and she can't figure out why she hasn't been able to save for a new car.............duhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa blink
I figure that if a kid is old enough to have their own cell phone, they'd better be old enough to go in equal shares on the house payment, electric, gas, etc etc etcteri

I agree with you --- she's too young to be turned loose with a cell phone. I wonder if she thinks that since you already have the phone that it wouldn't cost anything to use it??? Kids can get some strange ideas.
When she's old enough to drive I think is plenty young enough to have a cell phone for limited use only --- I feel so much better knowing my girls have cell phones they can use in an emergency.

I agree with the rest, no way. Kids get into too much trouble without these things let alone with them. Stay tough Mom.

They're all right. Don't cave in to her. She'll get over it.
I think when they're old enough to drive and need one for a lifeline, my son will get one that has prepaid minutes and after that it shuts off. Except to dial 911. And I think all of them do that as long as the battery is charged and a signal is good.
I swear I don't understand why they think they need all these gadgets. We got through childhood just fine. (Or is 26 already considered old)??? eek
