I am peeved and sick and tired and sick and tired of being sick and tired. I take lyrica for my fibro. It has really helped a lot. Well i called my doctor for a refill. It was within the window for my insurance to cover it but not too late that i might run out, or so i thought. This was Wednesday. I went to the pharmacy on Saturday to pick it up. They had no record of the prescription being called in. Great. I have to wait until Monday to call my doctor. I started rationing my pills. Not taking all three pills for the day. O receive a call from the office saying it had been called in. I later receive a call from the pharmacy saying the prescription is ready. I go to the pharmacy in the blizzard. I get there. The prescription is ready, but they can't give it to me because the prior approval form had not been filled out. I have no pills left. Every cell in my body hurts. I have bad headaches and have started throwing up. I have been in bed all day and have not been able to do anything productive. Work tomorrow is going to be a nightmare. The only thing worse than facing fifth graders when every cell in ur body hurts, is facing kindergarteners when every cell in ur body hurts. Is it bad for me to pray for another snow day after we have already had so many? think im coming down with a cold also.
Well that's the end of my pity party.

Is there anyway you can pay out of pocket for a few days worth of medication. It is crazy to let someone go into withdrawel, lyrica is not a drug you can just stop cold turkey. Is this form your talking about an insurance form? I have had the drugstore call for me just to get an approval for meds by phone, in a similar desparate situation.

          Sorry to hear this.

I would call the pharamacy and see if they have provisions for emergency's.

We went to Washington state for the day, so we didn't take extra meds with us it was to be a day trip, live and learn will never do this again.

We went into a pharamacy and explained my husband needed his MR and they gave us a 2 day supply we only needed one, but the pharamacist said it would save us a trip if something else happened and we didn't get home.

Lyrica is an expensive med but maybe they would sell you a couple of days supply, or give you a couple of days and deduct them from you rx once it is all approved.

I understand laws but this is rediculus.

My are with you all. May you all find a way to peace and joy in your lives.

Are you vomitting from migraines? You can call your doctor and ask them for samples of this medication until it is authorized through your insurance, you don't have to sit there and suffer like that. I'm sorry you feel so bad.

oh my goodness, grinch, i sure hope you got this straightened out by now. It definitely sounds like you are suffering from a type of withdrawal syndrome from not getting your usual doses of Lyrica. I see where MG suggested purchasing just a few days supply. I hope that you were able to do that.

                thanks for the love

Thank you for all the love and support. The past week has been a nightmare. I ended up in the hospital with a variety of symptoms including excrutiating fibro pain, an excruciating headache (the worse I ever had), and vomiting. I was in h-e-double hockey sticks. I went in Thursday and came home last night. After more fluids than i have ever had in life, pain meds, reaction to shots given to me, a racing heartbeat, fevers, and low blood pressure the final results were a possible flu and a bacterial urine infection. I have 3 prescriptions. Today I finally got my Lyrica. I had to get a case worker in order to get everything straightened out. Hallelujah. I am happy to be home and happy to have my meds. Not even going to complain about how weak and cruddy i feel or any side effects. I am just happy to have my meds. that is kind of sad. Thanks again for the support.
