  • fibro symptom or something else

Has anyone had numbness in their thumb or other parts of their hands? Tonight I have this numbness in the top of my thumb. It came on suddenly. It is making me a little nervous. I dont know if it is a fibro symptom or something else. After being in the hospital last week, everything makes me nervous. I dont need or want anything else to be wrong.

I think it would be a good idea to give your doctor a call and ask your question.

      Talked to the doctor

So I contacted my doctor's office. They told me not to worry about the numbness. It could be caused by an iv i got when i was in the hospital. They said to just watch it and to come in if it spreads to other parts of my body. Now I dont know if it is my paranoia, anxiety/hypochondria that makes me feel like the numbness is spreading or if something is really wrong. I am scared and sad and dont know what to do.

        numbness

        Hi,
Why don't you go ahead and call your doc and let him/her take a look. It never hurts to make sure nothing is going on, and it will give you some peace of mind.

Have you made any changes to your medications recently? Skin numbness can be a side effect to some drugs.

They can do a nerve conduction study if it persists.
