  • IBS? rectocle?

Hi All! Is there testing for IBS? My dr (gp) has thought for a while I might have IBS. It is time for me to figure this all out!!
If it isn't the bladder then it is the other! Sometimes both!
I am experiencing cramping, diarreha, rectal pressure, rectal burning. then the urinery frequency is now way up too.
my uro says I am/have rectocle. Could this have a part in why I am feeling this way?
How do I know what is doing the spasms? bladder or intestines?
I hope this is making sense to someone. I had to take some pain meds because of the pain!
I get rid of the vaginal burning only to be replaced by rectal burning!?

Rectocele is in your vagina. It's a bulging in your vagina of your intestinal wall or something like that I think. I know something is bulgine through your vaginal wall. It's not anything in your rectum burning. That would be something like hemorrhoids or something.

I have IBS and IC. Yes, usually one is flairing when the other is not. The IBS is more cramping and feeling like you have to have a BM, but can't or the urge is so strong and you have a hard time to get to the bathroom on time with server cramping and spasm of the intestines. I bounce between constipation and the runs. As far as burning I only have burning when the stool is loose, but anything that stretches the bowel hurts like heck. They can do a colonoscopy if it comes out normal then you have the wonderful diagnosis of IBS. It is another one of the illnesses that you have to illiminate the otherstuff and if you still hurt it is IBS.
      I hope this helps you.

A rectocele is a herniation of the rectum into the vagina. Its caused by a weakening in the posterior vaginal wall. The symptoms are typically a feeling of fullness (as if you have a tampon inserted wrong) in the vagina, and possibly having to splint in order to have a BM. Pain generally isnt a symptom of a rectocele.
A prolapse can be diagnosed by a pelvic exam (preferrably while the patient is standing). Sometimes PT will help with prolapse, depending on how bad it is.

          rectocele

I had surgery for a rectocele a year before being diagnosed with IC (I believe the IC was caused by the surgery somehow....) Anyway, as said before, it is a herniation of the rectal wall through the vagina. You can usually see a "bulge" of tissue coming through the vaginal opening if you cough or strain.(Try looking at yourself with a mirror...)

I DEFINITELY had burning and a feeling of "fullness", although no diarrhea.......When having a BM, you usually have to press the perinium area down, or even insert a finger into the vagina and press down....A rectocele can be felt on exam by a gyno.......my gyno did the surgery.

          Hope this helps!

          Hugs,

There's nothing silly about having to ask. It's silly NOT to ask.

                Charmed,

I see that you have 3 kids....did you have them close in age?? I also have three (most of the time WONDERFUL kids ) who are now 11, 12 1/2, and almost 14. My gyno said the stretching from childbirth 3 times so closely together attributed to the rectocele.

For peace of mind, get a gynocological exam (you uro can also diagnose you upon an internal...)

PM me for any info about the rectocele repair or the IC!

                Warm hugs,

I definitely had pain with my rectocele. I had surgery to repair it about ten years ago. It was a huge relief to have it taken care of.
