  • Body aches

I went to the doctors today. I told him I needed his help because the pain is getting so unbearable. I have achiness in my legs, ankles, thighs, shoulder, neck, and across my back, and shooting pain down my legs. It is like my whole body is mess up. My doctor send me to get a hip x-ray, and some blood test. The blood test are ANA W/REFLEXTITER, RHEUMATOID FACTOR, AND ESR. It is to check for inflammation stuff. But I have no ideal if it is nerves, muscles, joint problems or what. I guess this will help find what it is or rule things out.

I was upset because now he wants me to take my medicine (vicoprofen) 4 times a day, which is a cousin to vicodin only it has ibuprofen in it instead of acetaminophen. I was really hoping only to take it at night and get some else with it to relax me. I guess he did see how much pain I was in and insist that I take the medicine 4 times a day. I took a pill right after the doctor visit and within 20 minutes I was doing so much better. So how it is between getting relief from pain and feel drowsy or be in pain and cry. Grrrrrrr. Please pray that this will not hurt my bladder. Acetaminophen does not help me at all but I know to much ibuprofen is not good.

Thank you Ronda and Cindy I hope it continues to do the job to and don't cause my bladder to hurt. All my life I wasn't the type to like taking any kind of medicine and if I did it would be only temporarily. I am realizing the hard way that I have no choice about it. I just don't want to get addicted to anything but I don't want to live the rest of my life in severe pain either. I did wait alittle to long to take the medicine today but guess it will take time to get the hang of it. Take you for caring, it just really has been a rough month trying to get better and back on my feet.

        Sending hugs, Trishann

I've struggled a lot with body aches/joint pain, and all tests came back negative.
I gotta tell ya...acupuncture and T cream have really helped me. My wrists, ankles, hips, low back, bladder, etc...
I suffer from Androgen insufficiency and the hormone specialist I'm seeing has prescribed testosterone cream, which I apply in the morning. less than a pea size amount! i started that 3 months ago, and noticed a difference within a week.

It requires patience, but I knew the acu was making a difference after treatment 4. That was my breakthrough. But honestly, a steady dose of neurontin, hydrox at night, and cystoprotek could also be helping. My urgency/frequency is down significantly.

Remember that addiction is different than tolerance. Addiction comes from taking pain meds when you don't have pain, and only are looking for the high. When you take the meds as prescribed, you may build up a tolerance, but that is not addiction. It's simply your body's way of getting used to the dose and eventually will need a higher dose to get rid of the pain.

Please don't worry about getting addicted. I know how much pain you've been in, and you deserve the relief you are getting from the meds!

I've been off the boards a lot lately, did you get a diagnosis of fibro or are they still ruling out the other things first?

            Hugs, Sandy

My bowel ruptured, I almost died from peritonitis and spent several days in the ICU then more in a private room on the floor. ps

You need to take your pain meds BEFORE the pain gets too bad. Waiting on the pain to become unbearable makes your meds not work as well. They work much better if you take them on a regular schedule.

Hey Sandy, you are right about the pain medicine. I have been taking the pain medicine before it gets out of control and it really does help. Why I did not do it before, I guess I was afraid of getting hook the the drug. BUT to be honest with you, NOW I would rather feel better with less pain than suffer greatly.

My doctor is ruling things out. First the inflammation theory, but I still think it is a nerve issue because my hands, feet, and back will sting at times and get numb. The pain pills has help greatly even though the pain is still there I do get some relief and able to do things. I can slap myself over the head for hesitating to take it sooner.

People and some doctors makes it sound so awlful to take these pills but they don't have to live in severe pain daily. This helps me to get some of my life back and I don't care what others think now.

I went camping for four days and did somewhat good. One day of it was pretty rough but the other days wasn't bad. NOW IF I could just stop urinating constantly and the pressure that would be great. Camping though wasn't bad because family was there that understand and plenty of restrooms. Sometimes it just really gets to me.

I hope you are doing fine. I know you was having a rough time there for a while. I hope you were able to find something that could help you.

Sometimes it just stinks doesn't it, but I have to be grateful for the good times I have too.

                Take care Sandy,
                Trishann
