    magnesium supplements

    Does anyone have suggestions on what brand of magnesium to take when you also have IBS (the "diarrhea" kind); all magnesium just wreaks havoc on my IBS when I try to take it. I have lots of intestinal upset a couple of hours after taking it, and I'm taking a tablet and cutting it into quarters, so it's a very small dose. It's magnesium citrate.

      First off why are you taking it? Second....try taking it with twice as much calcium so that it won't make you more loose.

      I am not so sure that the type of magnesium will be enough or the brand....since I can get looser no matter what brand or kind I take but it isn't a problem as long as I take plenty of calcium with it.

          I take "chelated magnesium" on the advice of my PFD therapist and I have ulcerative colitis (in remission for many years) and have no problems.
