  • Yeast Infection, Diflucan, and sexual intercourse

I was wondering if u can take a diflucan for yeast infection and still have intercourse as long as there is no exchange of semen fluid? I had intercourse when I had BV and I would taking the suppositories after intercourse at night and it went away, but also I didnt get seminal fluid in me and I think that is what messes up the BV and YI treatments cause semen changes the PH of the vagina to encourage growth of bacteria and fungi. Abstaining from intercourse is hard cause I dont see my husband much due to work and school.
Diagnosed with IC October 2009- through bladder biopsy (no glomerations or hunners ulcers found, just irritation)

    I have moderate-severe IC

Currently stopped taking all medications due to pregnancy

I try not to have sex when I'm dealing with yeast only because I think it further irritates the skin and tissues in that area including my urethra. How irritated do your tissues get when you have a yeast infection? I always try to wait at least three days after the last diflucan before trying to have sex. unfortunately when I am having a long spurt of yeast issues I end up having sex sometimes because it can take months to fully get my body back in balance. If you do make sure you pee and shower right after.
