  • Yeast Free Diet

    Hi Everyone,

I wanted to check in and see if anyone has tried an anti-candida (yeast free diet). I thought that some of my symptoms might have been related to a yeast overgrowth so, this week I eliminated sugar, yeast, anything pre-packaged.. and anything carbonated. I've also eliminated acidic foods so that I could try to incorporate the IC diet into this.

My bladder feels worse.. much more burning and my frequency has increased.

Has anyone followed this kind of diet? Could this be yeast die off that I am experiencing or toxins leaving my body?

I'm open to anyone's suggestions and ideas.

    Thanks!!

Are you drinking enough water? Have you been checked to be sure you don't have an infection brewing?

I haven't but agree you should probably get it checked out as it could be a uti. A good probiotic like fem-dophilus or primadophilis retueri will keep yeast in check. Thats not to say that cutting out sugar isn't a great thing to do as I follow a pretty low sugar diet myself (but not low yeast). Are you prone to yeast infections?

Anytime you start an anti-yest diet or treatment you will have what is called "die-off" You will be eliminating a lot of toxins and they will come out in your urine. You may also feel flu like symptoms. It is perfectly normal. The problem is....getting through that first few days can be rough, especially with our sensitive bladders. Hang in there and I would love to know how it goes.

          Jody-
that's interesting. my old probiotic is discontinued that i was on for 2 years. I've been trying different ones, and they all seem to flare me. I wonder if it's the change, and the toxins are being eliminated in my urine. I'm going to give this new one (VSL#3-for vaginal health and IBS) another week or two to see if it calms down. It's a really high dose (100billon bacteria) and I started getting really itchy with bladder pain a couple days into taking it. I thought maybe the amount was to high, but maybe not?!

          Thanks!
